- Premium Substrates: From uncoated felt and estate paper for wine to textured and specialty stocks for spirits, we match the label material to the story you are telling.
- Two-Sided and Back Labels: For wines with a story to tell about the vineyard, the vintage, or the tasting notes, we print two-sided labels that turn every bottle into a keepsake.
Designing for Wine vs. Designing for Spirits
Wine labels and spirit labels answer to different design traditions, different regulatory requirements, and different consumer expectations. Our team works with both.
Wine Label Design
Wine label design typically follows a front and back format, with front labels sized around 3.5 by 4 inches on a standard 750ml bottle and smaller sizes for 375ml and 187ml formats. Common wine label elements include the varietal or blend name, appellation or region, vintage, alcohol content, and required government warnings. Premium wines often use uncoated felt or estate paper substrates paired with hot foil, embossing, or tactile varnishing to communicate craftsmanship. Two-sided labels are frequent, with tasting notes, food pairings, or the winery story on the back.
Spirit Label Design
Spirit label design covers a wider range of bottle shapes, from cylindrical whiskey and vodka bottles to fluted gin bottles, tapered rum bottles, and custom shapes for craft distilleries. Front and back labels are common, with additional neck or seal labels for premium releases. Spirit labels must include the class and type designation, alcohol content, net contents, brand name, and government warning per TTB requirements. Common finishes include hot foil stamping for whiskey and premium spirits, embossing for luxury releases, and specialty coatings for craft distilleries seeking a distinctive on-shelf presence.
